The Best Veggie Dip is not Ranch
Public Service Announcement: the best veggie dip on the planet is not ranch salad dressing. Nope, the best dip ever for your gorgeous vegetable platter is this creamy herbed dip right here. The dip of my childhood, my mother’s recipe, and I have no idea where she got it from. But it is hands down THE best. This veggie dip recipe takes just 5 minutes to make, uses simple ingredients, and has the most perfect balance of herb and onion flavors.

Why this recipe works
There is something about this veggie dip that I just love with all of my heart. It’s not too strong, and it’s not too “ranchy”. It is literally just right.
The flavors in this dip let veggies sing. It is exquisite really – with all easy ingredients and all easy to find. I generally don’t have trouble finding Beau Monde seasoning at the grocery store, but I have got it linked to Amazon in the recipe card in case you have any issues finding it. It is basically celery salt and onion powder (kinda sorta), so you can also just use that mixture in a pinch if need be as well.
This veggie dip can be made in advance. It can be made with reduced fat sour cream and light mayonnaise (I haven’t tried Greek yogurt, but I can only think that would work too), and you can change up the herbs however you like. Want to blend in an avocado? Knock yourself out. Add adobo sauce or Sriracha? Go for it.
Tips
Store prepared veggie dip in a crock or bowl covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator. Or store in a sealed container.
Reduced fat mayonnaise and light sour cream can be used in this recipe.
Veggies that I particularly like for my colorful veggie platter are snap peas, grape tomatoes, radish coins, and baby carrots. Also broccoli.
I put fresh parsley in the recipe card, but semi-dried parsley (find in the produce section) works just as well and tends to be what I use more often, full disclosure.
Fresh dill can also be used. Simply double the amount.
Pair a vegetable platter and my veggie dip with Deviled Eggs, and you will have the best party!
