This is my absolute favorite way to make white beans as a small, light side.
White Beans with Sage and Olive Oil
- 1 can cannellini or great northern beans
- 1 can chicken broth (or Chicken Stock)
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 T fresh sage, chopped
- kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- extra virgin olive oil
Rinse beans and drain. Meanwhile, heat the broth in a small pot. Add beans, garlic, and sage. Bring to a gentle simmer for a little while.
Drain beans and transfer to serving bowl. Season with salt (go easy) and pepper to taste. Serve warm or cooled, drizzled with a little olive oil.
