Avocado Herb Dressing

  • 1/2 c light mayonnaise I use Hellman's Olive Oil mayo
  • 1/4 c buttermilk
  • 1 T fresh cilantro
  • 1 t anchovy paste
  • pinch kosher salt
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 T water
  • juice of half a lime
  • zest of 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 t Sriracha optional


  • Process all ingredients in a food processor. Yields a little over a cup.


This dressing will keep for a day because of the acid from the lime, but once added to your salad or however you're using it, it will oxidize as all things avocado do. So add it when ready to serve. Also, this dressing does freeze well.
