Ingredients

  • 1 round loaf sour dough bread
  • 5 strips bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 6 T unsalted butter  melted
  • 1 c shredded pepperjack cheese
  • 1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ c chopped pickled jalapenos from a jar
  • 2 t Dijon mustard
  • 2 t fresh cilantro finely chopped
  • pinch kosher salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Slice the bread into 1-inch slices but don't cut all the way through (using a sharp, serrated knife is best as well as an extra pair of hands to help hold the loaf). Turn the bread 90 degrees and repeat so you end up with cubed pieces to pull and eat once the bread is done.
  • Spoon the melted butter in between all the cracks of the bread. With a fork, mix together the cheeses, bacon, jalapenos, Dijon, cilantro, and salt. Carefully stuff the cheese mixture into the cracks of the bread. Wrap the stuffed bread tightly with foil. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Open the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until the outside of the bread is toasty. Serve!
