Ingredients

  • 5 oz milk chocolate chopped (I used a combination of Hershey's milk chocolate and Nestle's Crunch bars)
  • 1 stick 1/2 c unsalted butter, softened
  • c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 t instant espresso
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 t pure vanilla extract
  • ½ t kosher salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • candies and pretzels for topping
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • Put the butter and chocolate in a medium mixing bowl. Melt by heating in the microwave for 30 second increments and whisking after each. Add the remaining ingredients in the order given.
  • Spread the batter in a 8x8 nonstick baking pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 25 minutes. Top with candy and pretzels and bake another 5 minutes so the candies get melty and brownies are cooked to desired doneness (I like them fudgy).

Notes

The majority of the prep time is getting the candy wrappers off.
