Hey everyone! Alright guys, it is spring-almost-summer. The final grind until School. Is. Out. Here in Florida, we have one week left. Getting the youngling through Kindergarten and the older one through …yessssss …Middle School. (Halleluja. Amen.) I am almost there. Are you almost there? Clearly, if there was ever a time to have a fancy coffee, now would be that time. Or Red Velvet Cake. So let’s do both…
This would be my second fancy coffee this year. My first was the Double Chocolate Tiramisu Iced Coffee, which was fabulous. So, since that experience, I have been looking for another opportunity to make a fancy coffee. I do not make fancy coffee often – my coffee usually is very non-fancy and just regular, morning java. But fancy coffee definitely has its place in this world, especially during insanely, ridiculously, omg-is-baseball-season-still-not-over-yet!, busy times. Like now. And this recipe gives you a fancy coffee FAST for much less cost than at any coffeehouse in the world. I think.
The trick I used to make this latte/coffee-version-of-cake/heaven is new International Delight® One-Touch Latte™. This handy little product is insane – just take a cup of coffee, point, and shoot this stuff in for a couple seconds and you have… a LATTE! It is the first creamer to actually, also, froth your coffee. No espresso-making, no other special ingredients. Just point, shoot, and you have a frothy, slightly sweetened latte in 5-7 seconds.
…You know where this is going to reallllly work for me? At work. Work coffee is awful coffee. Strong, bitter. I am so taking these to work to fix my at-work coffee problems.
So what else did I do here ….Well, I made some coffee. While that was brewing, I added 3 simple ingredients into my mug: cocoa powder, vanilla, and beet juice, and mixed. Then, I poured in the coffee, hit it with the One-Touch Latte™ to transform my coffee into a latte, then I topped with the obvious: sprinkles. 👌
Tip on the beet juice: freeze leftover beet juice as ice cubes in a tray, then put in a freezer container. Melt individually as needed for a much better red food coloring or just sneak into marinara sauce and such for an extra hit of beet-goodness for your family.
So that’s it folks. I usually have to describe more, explain more… but it is just not necessary for this recipe. It is this easy to have a delicious coffee like this at home, with so little effort yet rivaling anything at a coffeehouse. Trust and make. And enjoy.
