Cheese. Bacon. Jalapenos. Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Popper Pull-Apart Bread. Let’s usher in 2015 with a bang! …and a stuffed cheesy party bread. Just my way of saying Happy New Year!
I have given you pull-apart bread before ….aka Cheesy Stuffed Garlic Bread aka Crack Bread aka the bestest best thing to eat on the whole planet. Whenever I ask the family what they want to eat, it’s always “oh Crack Bread!” So if you haven’t tried the original cheesy, garlicky loaf of awesome yet, you need to get on that, no?
So this recipe is a little modification. Because I love jalapenos. …and bacon. No other reason really. I just wanted to make something super tasty and really cool to look at.
Pull-apart bread or “crack bread” is really not hard to make – just use a sharp, serrated knife and an extra pair of hands (I use my daughter) to help hold the bread as you slice. Then just drizzle and stuff the yum-yums in the cracks and bake. Soooo tasty good and just fun to eat. Cuz tasty fun foods rock right? Especially for, oh sayyy, when your husband’s team loses to the worst rated team in the NFL. (which really happened a few weeks ago. This bread helped. …a little).

- 1 round loaf sour dough bread
- 5 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 6 T unsalted butter, melted
- 1 c shredded pepperjack cheese
- 1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 c chopped pickled jalapenos from a jar
- 2 t Dijon mustard
- 2 t fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- pinch kosher salt
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Slice the bread into 1-inch slices but don't cut all the way through (using a sharp, serrated knife is best as well as an extra pair of hands to help hold the loaf). Turn the bread 90 degrees and repeat so you end up with cubed pieces to pull and eat once the bread is done.
- Spoon the melted butter in between all the cracks of the bread. With a fork, mix together the cheeses, bacon, jalapenos, Dijon, cilantro, and salt. Carefully stuff the cheese mixture into the cracks of the bread. Wrap the stuffed bread tightly with foil. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Open the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until the outside of the bread is toasty. Serve!
