When I make a smoothie, I want it to taste rich and delicious so I can forget that it’s healthy for me. And I want it to be filling. This smoothie more than checks those boxes.
Cherry Vanilla & Flax Smoothie
- 1 c fresh cherries, pitted and frozen
- 1 c unsweetened, vanilla-flavored almond milk
- 1 scoop whey protein powder (I use EAS Lean 15 protein powder)
- 1/2 T flax seeds
Grind the flax seeds. Flax seeds have to be ground for your body to process them, and they have to be ground fresh because the beneficial oils in them are volatile. I keep a coffee grinder just for grinding flax seeds.
Blend the ground flax meal with the remaining ingredients and enjoy! Serves 1.
